The main warning from participants concerns scammers. Throughout summer 2026 the discussions repeated that anyone who messages you privately first offering heets or vapes is a scammer, and people who pay in advance end up with neither the money nor the product. Do not send prepayment to unknown sellers in messaging apps — the discussions contain many such scam cases.

From June to September 2026, participants discussing Turkey kept saying the same thing: the sale of heated-tobacco sticks, disposable e-cigarettes and vapes is officially banned in the country, IQOS included. Asked 'where to buy' in September, one participant answered simply: 'nowhere'. If you use IQOS or a vape, assume you cannot legally restock in Istanbul, and check the exact rules on bringing them in for personal use with official sources before travelling.
