In a recent comparison, QR payments via Sber and T-Bank yielded about 272 VND per RUB, versus roughly 297 VND per RUB for cash exchange. QR payment through Bybit was also reported at around 305 VND per RUB, so rates vary substantially by service.

QR payments through T-Bank may take a long time to process: one report described a wait of about 10 minutes for confirmation. It may not be suitable when a quick payment is needed.

A recent report says there was no major savings difference between payment methods. The traveler used cash in RUB, CNY, and USD, plus QR payment through Sber and a CNY-denominated card, and did not find any clear financial advantage in one method over another.

One traveler reported exchanging a large cash amount without issues: about 120,000 RUB was converted into VND and delivered in cash by courier. In the same report, QR payment was said to have a practical lower limit of around 20,000 VND, so very small purchases may not work.

Another QR payment report says several QR codes were tried and only one worked through T-Bank. The reported rate was about 314 VND per 1 RUB, so it is worth comparing that rate with local cash-exchange offers before paying.
