How to get to Cham Islands from Da Nang: ferry schedule, prices and tips

In early October 2026 a participant wrote that a round-trip ticket can be booked in advance through the port ticket office, and gave a rough figure of about 450,000 VND per person, adding that he was not sure of the price.

If you stay overnight, a participant said in October 2026 that you can leave your motorbike overnight at the port parking. He also warned that a storm can leave you stuck on the island, and in his view there is not much to do there beyond one or two days.

The departure point is the port in Hoi An: according to travelers, boats to the islands run from there every day in the morning (reported in late July and early October 2026). From Da Nang you first need to get to Hoi An and board the boat there.

A traveler who returned from the islands in late July 2026 said tickets are sold right at the Hoi An port, in a building with many open doors side by side, where sellers sit at tables in the passageways. He did not know the full schedule but saw departures at 8:00 and 9:00; he paid 600,000 VND per person.

On arrival at the island, according to a traveler in late July 2026, motorbike taxi drivers usually approach you right at the port; you can also rent a bike from them — he was quoted 200,000 VND per day.

In July–August 2026 the same tip was shared several times: go to the pier any day of the week and buy a ticket right at the boat, without tours or middlemen. A round trip without a motorbike was from 250,000 VND, and taking a bike cost another 160,000 VND round trip. According to this description, you can return even a week later on the same ticket.

The white one costs 250,000 VND, departs at 8:00 and returns at 11:00: it is old and awkward for a day trip, but easier for carrying a motorbike. The yellow one costs 350,000 VND round trip, departs around 8:30 and returns at 13:00, and has an observation deck. You can go out on one and come back on the other.

Accommodation on the island, according to a July 2026 description, starts at 300,000 VND for a room for two or three; you can search on Booking or Agoda, or ask at a bar or at bike rental shops. Motorbike rental on the island is 150,000–200,000 VND per day.

If you have already booked a place to stay, ask your hosts about the transfer: in June 2026 a traveler wrote that the owner of a hotel in a remote island village had promised to help with the ferry and a motorbike taxi. Other participants made the trip entirely on their own via the Hoi An pier.
