What address should I put on the Vietnam e-visa application if my accommodation plans might change?

TL;DR
No supporting documents for the address are required — just enter any real, existing address (e.g. a hotel), and in practice you can change accommodation as many times as you like afterward without redoing the visa.
Enter the first place where you will actually stay on arrival. You do not need to amend the address on the issued e-visa, but your accommodation host must complete the online stay registration. If staying with friends, they should notify their landlord or building manager so your details can be reported to immigration; each new accommodation should register you again after a move.
No proof of accommodation is required — you just fill in some address in the form. One traveler changed their hotel address multiple times after approval without issues, and even ended up entering through Da Nang instead of Nha Trang as originally planned.
E-visa decisions typically take about 3 business days. However, delays happen: one applicant's first request took around 3 weeks because officials claimed the listed hotel address 'didn't exist'; another time the application was rejected on the grounds that the traveler supposedly hadn't yet exited Vietnam from a previous visa. Reapplications were spaced 6 months to a year apart, and one round was approved on the first try with no issues.
