TL;DR
At 24°C AC can consume around 2 kWh, at 26°C around 1.2 kWh — this is normal behavior. Check if filters and outdoor unit radiator are dirty (cleaning reduces consumption), and find out if your AC is inverter type.
If your AC is non-inverter (most units in Vietnam are), it has only two modes: fan only — around 50W, and compressor running — from 700W to 1.2kW depending on unit power. Inverter models adjust power automatically and start smoothly, non-inverter units kick in abruptly.
Check if the indoor unit filters and outdoor unit radiator grille are dirty. If so, gently clean the radiator with a soft brush and remove/wash the filters. This should reduce power consumption, especially if buildup was significant.
The difference in consumption between 24°C (around 2 kWh) and 26°C (around 1.2 kWh) is considered normal — the less cooling needed, the less energy the compressor uses.
