Are there cockroaches in Ho Chi Minh City apartments and how to deal with them?

The key solution is to seal all gaps and cracks in the apartment and use an insecticide containing deltamethrin. This works on any floor.

Choose an apartment as far as possible from the building's trash room — that's where cockroaches concentrate most. Residents who lived in three different units in the same complex had no cockroach issues at all.

Even ground-floor apartments can be cockroach-free: seal all gaps, hang mosquito screens, and do regular pest treatments. It's all manageable.

If previous tenants were messy — eating in bed, not cleaning — there can be a heavy infestation. Even severe cases can be fully eliminated within about 2 weeks of consistent treatment.
