Are there jellyfish or fish bites at Nha Trang beaches (Bai Dai/Cam Ranh area)?

In September 2026 visitors wrote that the water at the city beach had turned murky, "like cocoa." According to one participant, water from the city, the mountains and the river was flowing into the sea at the city beach, and this would last a while, so swimming quality was questionable.

In August 2026 a participant who swims far out warned that there is far more marine life here than people who have never gone beyond the buoys assume, and not all of it is harmless. He also noted that at high tide the depth rises noticeably — where it was about one metre, it becomes about two.

Jellyfish do occur here. In early August 2026 a traveler said she had not seen sea urchins in the central part of the beach and there are hardly any rocks there, but the northern part has jellyfish — she was stung by one that day.

In July 2026 a participant called talk of bites exaggerated: nothing bites near the shore, even if you lie on a towel right on the sand. According to her, something may occasionally sting you in the water, but in deeper water rather than right by the shore.

A traveler writing in July 2026 said no one in her group was bitten over two trips within a year. They did, however, lie on sunbeds and swim in reef shoes — special footwear for the sea.

About the beach in the Cam Ranh area, a traveler wrote in July 2026 that nothing was stolen from her paid sunbeds over a week. In her view, the sea and beach there are less clean than the central beach, but there are no waves — you can paddle out on a SUP board and dive from it.

Among public beaches, the same traveler in July 2026 named the Cam Ranh beach as the cleanest in terms of sea and sand — based on her personal impression.
