TL;DR
Since January 2025 e-cigarettes/vapes are officially banned in Vietnam — you can't buy them in stores, and customs at Cam Ranh airport may confiscate devices found in luggage (fines are rare for 1-2 personal-use devices, but confiscation is common). In Nha Trang there's no legal place to buy them, only informal/underground sources.
E-cigarettes aren't sold legally anywhere in Nha Trang — the nationwide ban has been in effect since early 2025, so regular tobacco stalls and minimarkets don't stock them.
At Cam Ranh airport customs, if they find 1-2 devices or bottles of liquid for personal use, they usually just confiscate the items without issuing a fine — fines are more for larger commercial quantities.
Vaping outdoors is technically restricted the same way as regular smoking — sale and public use are both banned by law, though in practice tourists are rarely stopped just for using a device.
Many travelers switch to regular tobacco cigarettes for the trip, since those are fully legal and sold at any minimarket or at Dam Market.
If really needed, liquids and coils can sometimes be found unofficially through local expat chats or a few vape shops still operating semi-legally, though prices and availability are very inconsistent.
