How to get from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh by local bus?

Bus #12 was also mentioned for trips to Doc Let: in late September 2026 a participant wrote that you can get there on bus #12, by taxi or on rented transport — it is about 30 km from Nha Trang.

In September 2026 participants described Nha Trang's two airport bus routes: bus #18 leaves for Cam Ranh airport from the bus station at 10 Yersin Street, and bus #16-2 leaves from southern Nha Trang, at the Vinpearl pier terminal.

Bus #23, which takes you to the #16-2 transfer at the cable car station, was reported as free in September 2026. In late September 2026 participants wrote that northbound it no longer reaches the Do Theatre and goes only as far as Marina Beach; earlier in September someone noted it runs to Marina Bay before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.

Participants recommend checking the schedules for buses #23 and #16-2 in the VinBus app. Registration is optional: when the sign-up window appears, tap next to it and it closes. Then choose Nha Trang and open Bus routes. This tip was repeated in September 2026.

In the other direction, from Cam Ranh airport to central Nha Trang, an August 2026 tip was to board bus #18 at the main entrance: the fare to the center was 75,000 VND, and from there you can take a taxi to your destination.

A participant who regularly used the airport buses between Nha Trang and a hotel in Cam Ranh wrote in July 2026 that the buses stop only at their own stops: a pole with a green sign for #16-2 and a pole with a yellow sign and the route number for #18. Flagging them down elsewhere does not work. Bus #16-2 runs about every 45 minutes. Taxi drivers, by contrast, will stop anywhere along the road and offer a ride.

From hotels in Cam Ranh you can also reach Nha Trang by public transport, not only by taxi: a participant said in July 2026 that he regularly rode bus #16-2 between Nha Trang and his hotel in Cam Ranh, using its marked stops.

For travelers heading toward Bai Dai beach on bus #18, a July 2026 reminder: this route has only a limited number of official stops. Transferring to the airport bus #16-2 from city routes 05-1, 05-2, 02 and 23 is straightforward.

Heading from southern Nha Trang toward Bai Dai and Cam Ranh, a July 2026 tip says you can reach the CostaBella area on the airport buses #18 and #16-2: they stop opposite the resort entrance, by Diamond Bay Condotel.

The nearest bus #18 stop depends on which part of Nha Trang you start from. In June–July 2026, when people asked without giving a starting point, participants replied with a general link to the stop map and asked where they were departing from to suggest the closest stop.
