Is it worth buying a smartphone or iPhone in Nha Trang — what do travelers say about prices?

Participants explain why resellers can undercut retail: they buy phones wholesale, in batches, rather than one device at a time. In August 2026 another participant added that you will not get one or two phones at the price importers pay — that is realistic only when buying in the thousands.

In late July 2026 a shopper visited electronics stores in Nha Trang: flagship Samsung models were first priced at 36 million VND, then discounted to just over 30 million. In their view, the stores would not go lower than that. For comparison, they cited a price in Russia of about 23 million VND equivalent — noticeably cheaper than Nha Trang retail. This is one shopper's experience in a few stores, not a survey of the whole market.

Opinions differ. In July 2026 one participant wrote that electronics in Nha Trang are usually about one and a half times cheaper than in Russia, except Apple, where the gap on iPhones is small. Another argued that phones are cheaper in Russia. In late August another traveler said prices on Vietnamese websites looked higher than at home, though they had not yet checked stores in person.
