Is theft a problem in Nha Trang — should I watch my bags in cafes and on the street?

A traveler had their bag snatched right on the street near a McDonald's in broad daylight. Witnesses are asking others to look out for the suspect, since he may be staying at a nearby hotel.

At a cafe or restaurant, a group at the next table noticed a customer had left their bag behind, waited a bit, then took it. Security footage shows one person grabbing the bag while another in a green shirt walks in front of the camera at that exact moment, apparently to block the view.

The bag's owner disputes the claim that the item was handed in to lost-and-found, saying the footage clearly shows an attempt to quietly walk off with someone else's bag rather than turn it in to staff.
