What's the weather like on Phu Quoc by month and when is the rainy season?

In late July, Mui Ne/Phan Thiet has waves in winter, while Phu Quoc is in its high season at that time of year.

Weather on Phu Quoc resembles Mui Ne: heavy rains in November (last year there was a typhoon and flooding), from December it gets dry with rare rain that passes quickly or falls at night. Waves can hit the central beach - better to go to calmer beaches or islands then. January can still be cloudy and rainy.

After arriving on Phu Quoc on July 3 from Nha Trang, by the second day the rain had stopped and weather cleared up quickly.

In March, Phu Quoc also had rain, but swimming and walking around were still comfortable even during rain.

A traveler arriving in early July was slightly disappointed by rainy weather on the first day on the island.

In early August, Phu Quoc is in low season with far from ideal beach weather. In winter (December-February) there's almost no rain and the sea is calm.

August on Phu Quoc is low season with potentially poor beach weather, while Nha Trang has its high season during the same period.

Around New Year the weather is excellent - it's the middle of high season on Phu Quoc, unlike Nha Trang where it can be cloudy and rainy at that time.
