Dahab tourists mostly do camel rides and jeep trips; Marsa Alam offers similar activities plus hotels for every budget. Marsa Mubarak is a pricier area (only Jaz Elite resort), but nearby Coraya offers similar quality at more affordable prices. It's considered more interesting than 'boring' Hurghada, and Aswan is a reasonable day trip from there. Don't expect to find cheap Sharm-style all-inclusive resorts in Dahab — they simply don't exist there.
