TL;DR
The reef at Three Pools is poor; better to take a $3 taxi to Lighthouse for good snorkeling. Among the Laguna bay hotels, Ganet Sinai (Grand Oasis) has a slightly better reef, but Sierra offers better beach facilities.
If you want a beach with corals, free sunbeds, drinks, shower and toilet (without running back to your hotel), compare hotels in the same bay — Sierra and Ganet Sinai (Grand Oasis).
For overall beach comfort and facilities, Sierra is the better pick, but for reef/snorkeling quality, Ganet Sinai (Grand Oasis) wins.
Walking to a beach with a reef from the Laguna hotels is totally doable — the distance isn't really an issue.
The reef at Three Pools is thin and unimpressive — not much to see there for snorkeling.
Better to head to Lighthouse: leave your stuff at a beachfront café and enjoy snorkeling on a proper reef. A taxi there costs about $3, and tea/coffee/juice at the café are very cheap.
