Can I request a specific hotel building at check-in in Egypt, and which room locations are best?

TL;DR
You can ask the reception for a different building, particularly if you are assigned to buildings 56 or 57. Rooms near the water park or behind the restaurant are slightly farther from the sea, while swim-up rooms are normally assigned according to the booked category.
Ask reception which building you will be assigned before accepting the room. If it is building 56 or 57, request another building, as these were the ones travelers specifically flagged.
You can state a building preference at check-in. It may be accommodated free of charge if rooms are available, or sometimes for a small tip; a specific building is not guaranteed without a confirmed booking.
If beach proximity matters, note that buildings behind the restaurant and near the water park are farther from the sea. The difference is roughly 100 metres, but it can matter when traveling with small children.
With a confirmed swim-up booking, a separate building request may not be necessary: guests are normally placed directly in the appropriate room category.
One building is located beyond the hotel gates. Before taking the keys, ask about its exact location and the walk to the beach if being close to the sea is important to you.
