How much does a room upgrade cost at Egyptian all-inclusive resorts, and is it worth it?

TL;DR

Room upgrades are usually offered on-site at check-in; the price depends on the hotel and room availability — sometimes even a paid upgrade isn't possible if the resort is fully booked.

One traveler noted that when the resort is fully booked, even extending checkout by a few hours wasn't possible — an upgrade may also be unavailable due to lack of free rooms.

The gap between standard and upgraded rooms can be huge at some hotels — some rooms are in bad shape (like a wardrobe placed inside the shower area), while others are genuinely nice. It's best to decide on upgrading after seeing the room in person.

The upgrade fee depends on the specific hotel and room category — travelers recommend asking at the front desk upon arrival, since the price difference between a standard and upgraded room can be significant.
