How to choose a quiet hotel room in Egypt and avoid rooms near noisy equipment?

For a quieter stay, consider Building 7: a guest reports it is exceptionally quiet. However, rooms there may be unrenovated and in average condition.

Ask at booking whether the room has an interconnecting door. Such rooms may be assigned as regular rooms, but sound from the neighboring room can carry strongly through the door.

If your room is next to noisy technical equipment, a free transfer may not be possible — other rooms can be fully occupied or under renovation. In one case, only 4 out of 8 rooms of that type were available. The only solution was downgrading to a standard room on the first floor, which was slightly quieter.

Transferring to a different hotel building (e.g. Azalea wing) is possible but requires an extra fee and must be arranged through a tour operator — the front desk cannot process it directly.

Some guests report no bad rooms at all — simply stating your preferences at check-in (quiet location, away from equipment) can get you a well-situated room at no extra charge.
