How to choose a quiet hotel room in Egypt and avoid rooms near noisy equipment?

TL;DR

Request room location away from technical areas when booking. If stuck with a noisy room, free transfers are limited — downgrades or paid upgrades may be the only options.

If your room is next to noisy technical equipment, a free transfer may not be possible — other rooms can be fully occupied or under renovation. In one case, only 4 out of 8 rooms of that type were available. The only solution was downgrading to a standard room on the first floor, which was slightly quieter.

Transferring to a different hotel building (e.g. Azalea wing) is possible but requires an extra fee and must be arranged through a tour operator — the front desk cannot process it directly.

Some guests report no bad rooms at all — simply stating your preferences at check-in (quiet location, away from equipment) can get you a well-situated room at no extra charge.

Noise from technical/mechanical equipment is a known issue in certain rooms. It's advisable to specify at booking that you want a room away from utility or mechanical areas.
