In the low season, a guest was able to negotiate a more favorable room assignment by placing $20 and two boxes of chocolates in the passport at reception. It also helped to confidently discuss building locations and which second-floor rooms lack balconies, although the arrangement still took persistence.

One guest booked a Superior/Ultra all-inclusive category, but at check-in was placed into a Deluxe room for free, with no extra payment. Staff checked in with them multiple times to ask if everything was fine. The upgrade was offered without the guest requesting it.

Another guest had booked a standard room. The porter carrying the luggage noticed the room was small, had them fill out a form, and told them to go have lunch. While they were at the restaurant, they were moved to a family room at no extra cost.
