Should I buy a local SIM card in Egypt or use a tourist/international SIM?

TL;DR
A local Egyptian SIM is the most reliable option. Tourist and eSIM cards that work in other countries often fail in Egypt.
Physical tourist SIM cards (like M8) with a Middle East package can cover both Turkey and Egypt, but the cost is noticeably higher than a local SIM.
If your phone doesn't support eSIM, a physical tourist SIM (such as TurSim) with an add-on Middle East data package can work in Egypt. It's pricier than a local SIM but convenient for multi-country trips.
The best option for connectivity in Egypt is to buy a local Egyptian SIM on arrival. Hotel Wi-Fi exists but can be unreliable, so a local SIM is the safer choice.
eSIM from TripSim that worked fine in Turkey does not work in Egypt at all. Do not rely on it as your primary connectivity option there.
