TL;DR
Top options: Sheraton Street with markets and souvenir shops (taxi ~$2), Hurghada City mall within walking distance, and Senzo Mall with El Ezaby pharmacy.
In fixed-price shops there's no need to bargain. Across the road from the hotel there's another shop called ATEN, which also sells dates.
On the hotel side, a short walk right from the old reception, there's a two-floor shop: groceries downstairs, and upstairs clothing, masks, corals, flippers and souvenirs — inexpensive. Prices are in Egyptian pounds but dollars are accepted too. For fruits, dates, chocolate and halva, Gomla is recommended, but it's said to be weaker for clothing/masks.
At the nearby Hurghada City Centre mall you can buy fruits, sweets, dates and Dubai chocolate to take home; payment in Egyptian pounds, with ATMs and currency exchange nearby.
Besides hotel-area shops and stores in the neighboring Baron area, there are separate stores called Mango Market and George Clooney with free shuttle transfer; prices there are lower than at hotel shops.
In the Hurghada City Centre mall (to the right from the hotel), at the very end of the first floor there is a Carrefour; payment by Union Pay card or Egyptian pounds cash. About 20 minutes on foot, or about 5 minutes by minibus (5 EGP fare).
As a regular grocery option, Spinneys is also recommended, and there is a grocery store in the Hurghada City Centre mall too, in case it's closer to your hotel.
For those staying in the far north of Hurghada, there is a nearby Bestway supermarket where you can buy sweets, fruits and similar items to take home.
On the main tourist street not far from the Marina, there are many souvenir shops; some have fixed prices while others do not display tags. A larger store mentioned there is Sokar, which has a wide range of goods.
If you check the side streets and small lanes around the Sheraton area rather than only the main tourist-facing shops, bargaining there can get you noticeably lower prices.
At Senzo Mall, near the entrance by Spinneys, there is a dedicated large luggage section; payment there is taken in Egyptian pounds at the cashier.
Metro is mentioned as another shopping option, but with a warning that prices there are considered unfriendly compared with cheaper alternatives.
On Sheraton Street, travelers recommend All In near George Clooney: tea, dates, and other local products are said to be cheaper there than in nearby tourist-oriented shops. The second floor has souvenirs, bags, masks, and suitcases.
Among Sheraton Street shops, George Clooney is considered decent too, but prices are generally higher there than at All In.
Besides the pharmacy, Senzo Mall also has a grocery store that sells souvenirs; according to travelers, payment there is in Egyptian pounds. Prices are a bit lower than in small souvenir shops, though the difference is not large.
At Cleopatra shopping center, travelers suggest checking the second or third row from the left for souvenir stalls: small souvenirs can start at about 160 EGP there. There is also a grocery shop nearby with sweets and snacks.
A local shop across the road from the hotel is noted for good prices and Egyptian-pound-only payment; as a grocery price reference, mangoes were seen there at 55 EGP per kg.
Gomla supermarkets are considered one of the best-value places for groceries in Hurghada: they are regular local supermarkets with reasonable prices. One important detail is that many branches accept payment only in Egyptian pounds. There are several Gomla stores in the city, so it makes sense to look up the branch closest to your hotel.
Near Old Seagull, travelers recommend Cleopatra Bazar, a large four-floor fixed-price shop. Directions: cross the road by Old Seagull and walk left for about 5 minutes.
It is generally better to pay in Egyptian pounds when shopping, and some stores do not accept any other currency at all.
