At check-in, guests paid a $50 top-up and were given a family two-room bungalow right by the sea instead of a standard room — reportedly this $50 bungalow upgrade has also been available at the Nubian hotel in previous years.

Booked only a panoramic-view tour, building 6. On arrival the 5th-floor room was spacious but disliked the huge building's location. Front desk arranged a free change to building 1 (1 minute to the beach), 2nd floor room with shower and a large patio with a sofa under a canopy. Gave $50 to reception as a thank-you tip (not a fee for the change).

A bungalow room near the construction zone had serious issues: sewage smell, dampness, a broken shower, and no hot water. After requesting a change at the front desk at 3 PM, a move to the 7th floor of the main building with a sea view was arranged. Note: service quality varies by shift — one team is helpful, the other less so.

After booking two standard rooms, the front desk offered an upgrade to a family two-room suite for $60. The room was good quality — ground floor with a direct beach and sea view.
