On one Biblio Globus transfer to Makadi, the ride took 3.5 hours because the guide got off at every hotel and waited for guests to register. On another trip, the same guide detoured the whole bus to a market on the return from Sahl Hasheesh, making everyone wait for her. So the human factor (guide behavior), not just the route, can significantly extend transfer time.

A lot depends on the tour operator: with Fan San, large buses loop through all hotels in the group one by one, dropping off passengers at each. As an alternative to avoid multiple stops, you can book a private transfer via Marotus (~$10) and get to your hotel in a new air-conditioned car in about 15 minutes with no other hotel stops.

Based on multiple trips, the first drop-off was always at our hotel; on the return we were the second pickup. Overall the process is fairly quick.
