Is there a business class lounge at Hurghada airport for flights to Russia?

According to a recent passenger report, a small business lounge has opened on the second floor of Hurghada Airport for travelers departing to Russia. It has a separate restroom, a smoking area, tea, coffee, canned drinks and modest snacks. Access can reportedly be arranged with bank lounge passes; a staff member near the entrance on the first floor helps check eligible cards or locate/set up the required QR code. The airport provides 15 minutes of Wi‑Fi for completing the process.

The lounge restriction applies only to passengers on direct flights to Russia. If a Russian traveler is flying to Russia with a connection (e.g., via Turkey), they can access the lounge like any other passenger.

Although a business lounge is not officially available for direct flights to Russia, the door to that area is occasionally left open and passengers may get in; this is a rare exception.

For direct flights from Hurghada to Russia, passengers wait in a separate holding area and cannot access the main departures hall or the area with most duty-free shops. Because of that, it is better to buy food or snacks in advance.

Following a plane crash, Russian authorities required a dedicated section of Hurghada airport for direct Russia flights. That section has no business lounge.

The operational rules for the Russia-dedicated terminal section do not include a business lounge, and access to one is effectively not possible.

The left section of Hurghada airport, where the lounge is located, is off-limits to passengers on direct Russia-bound flights.

Direct Russia flights operate under special conditions both on departure and arrival, including selective checks and a separate baggage belt.
