Using Uber in Hurghada: do you pay the app price or need to offer more?

TL;DR

The price shown in the Uber app in Hurghada is more of a suggested fare than a fixed price — drivers often decline trips at that rate, so adding a bit extra helps you actually get a car.

What the community said

Travelers ask whether the fare shown in the Uber app is truly fixed, or if drivers can ask for extra payment.

One local resident advises not to rely on the recommended price shown in the app — it's often too low, and if you offer exactly that amount, the driver may simply decline the ride. Better to manually bump up the price a bit before ordering.

Whether the fare is a strict fixed rate or drivers can ask for more on the spot is a recurring question among travelers before their first Uber ride in the city.
