TL;DR
Serano Club itself finished renovation, but Serano Aqua Park is still under construction — the central entrance is closed, so access is only via the Azalea resort. There are complaints about poor hygiene at beach bars and dishes in the aqua park restaurant.
Renovation at Serano Club is finished, but Serano Aqua Park is still being renovated — the central entrance is closed, so guests have to walk through the Azalea hotel grounds, which is inconvenient.
Serano Club/Aqua Park guests eat at the aqua park restaurant. Food quality is okay, similar to Azalea's, but the plates and cutlery look like they're just wiped with a wet cloth instead of being properly washed.
Restaurant staff at the aqua park are described as mediocre, with one bartender behaving rudely toward guests.
The Azalea hotel no longer allows Serano Club/Aqua Park guests to eat in its restaurants, but Serano guests can still freely use Azalea's bars, pools and water park.
Beach bars have serious hygiene issues: glasses are just rinsed under a tap. In one reported case a cleaner dumped ashtray waste into a glass, and the bartender simply rinsed it with water afterward and poured a drink for the next guest.
The sea is currently very warm, especially in the evening and after low tide — described as noticeably hot.
Current weather in Hurghada: nights around 28-30°C, days 38-42°C — very hot in mid-August.
