TL;DR
For families with kids, Blue and Park hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh are top picks with spacious beaches and great infrastructure. Sentido is excellent for adults and snorkeling enthusiasts.
Clarification on beach cabanas: the premium 'Posh' cocoons are located separately, slightly elevated, near the Posh restaurant. Guests with blue or red wristbands (not matching this tier) are asked to leave that area.
A review of one hotel's beach: it's a stepped/terraced beach with no direct sea entry from shore (lots of stairs, so assess your own stamina), but there's a small shallow micro-lagoon just to wade and cool your feet. The nearby reef is excellent — guests swam to neighboring hotels and even climbed onto their piers to rest without being asked to leave. There's a beach bar with a great reef view.
For a family stay at Rixos Seagate, keep the very strong tides in mind: guests report that the sea recedes far from shore at low tide, which can make beach swimming inconvenient.
Besides paid loungers, there are free bungalow-style cabanas on the beach — arriving early around 6am means almost no one is there yet, so you can pick any spot. Some remain empty during the day too.
If the main beach is full, guests report comfortably relaxing on the cliff/bluff area nearby, which also has bungalow-style cabanas — described as a great alternative spot.
There is a former children's fenced-off area on the beach that now has sun loungers — it tends to be a bit less crowded, though it is considered the back row.
White Hills is a good option for sea and snorkelling enthusiasts — the water is excellent and food is decent. However, sea entry is only via a pier, and the beach is shared with Miraki hotel (adults 16+ only), which families with children should keep in mind.
The sea entry is ideal — fine sand with no sea urchins or rocks, safe even for crawling toddlers. The shoreline gradually deepens: older kids can stand in the shallows, and just a couple of metres out the reef begins. Sun loungers are sturdy wood, and large palm-leaf umbrellas provide dense shade.
Premium sun loungers can be reserved in advance and come with a mini-fridge stocked with drinks. Unreserved loungers are also available, just not in the prime spots.
The hotel has Garden and Club sections: Club is closer to the beach, while Garden has a quieter pool with fewer people. If an aquapark matters, choose Garden; otherwise either section works.
Sentido hotel is great for snorkeling fans — just to the right of the plastic pontoon there's a large reef with a giant moray eel and an eagle ray. The sea is crystal clear. However, for families with children, Blue or Park hotels are a better fit.
Blue hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh is the top choice for families — kids absolutely love it and don't want to go anywhere else. Locals say there's no real alternative to Blue and Park for family beach holidays in Sharm.
The hotel beach was never crowded — sun loungers always available, wind screens provided, and staff will place a lounger wherever you prefer. There's even a separate quiet zone with loungers for those seeking privacy.
The sea is exceptionally clean and clear — no trash or sewage visible anywhere. Swimming is safe on both sides of the beach, and daytime boat traffic is minimal in this area.
