What is the sea water temperature in Sharm el-Sheikh by month?

A traveler who visited in February found the sea comfortable for swimming, but felt chilly in the wind after getting out.

On October 9, 2026, a traveler estimated the sea temperature at about 28°C and found the water very pleasant for swimming, despite rain, an evening downpour and lightning throughout the day.

One traveler found the sea too cold to swim in during April and recommends visiting no earlier than late May for comfortable bathing. They also noted that water can sometimes be warmer over the New Year holidays than in April.

One report found that through November 10, sea temperature was 28–29°C, matching the previous year. Conditions can vary substantially between years, however: in one season the water was already around 25°C by mid-October and felt cold to the traveler.

Another report confirms March is cold and windy. In the second half of May the sea itself was comfortable for swimming, but strong wind upon exiting the water caused noticeable discomfort (felt cold on the shore).

Another traveler stayed Nov 4–16: weather was good, but it got increasingly windy closer to departure, with fewer people swimming in the sea. The pool, however, was freezing cold.

In January, swimming was comfortable and pleasant. Only one day had cold wind, so a heated pool was used instead of the sea that day. Otherwise the sea was fine, and it was even sunny enough to get sunburned.

In February, sea temperature was 23–25°C, with air at 27–29°C during the day and 16–18°C in the evening. The traveler noted this was a lucky year weather-wise, as conditions vary a lot year to year.

Based on multi-year observations, October sea used to be very warm, like warm milk. But in recent years this has shifted — the sea now starts cooling down as early as September 15.

Last September the sea wasn't quite as warm as 'warm milk', but noticeably warmer than in May. Since the area isn't a closed bay, currents are common and water temperature can vary by spot — possibly influenced by tides.

In April the water was clear and comfortable enough to swim for 40–50 minutes at a stretch — a huge difference compared to March.

In late April 2026 (24 Apr – 1 May), water was around +25°C. Two windy days without swimming, but overall pleasant and not too hot.

In August the water itself is very warm — like warm milk — but getting out can feel cool.
