Which beaches in Sharm El Sheikh are the best for tourists?

One report singled out the beach at the Lido hotel as an exception to the generally good beaches in Naama Bay, rating it below most beaches in the area.

For coral and fish, a recommendation identifies roughly three beaches in the El Fanar area and about three more below the Farsha hookah lounge.

The paid El Fanar beach does not require using steep staircases; access to the water is via only a few small steps. It is among the beaches near the aircraft-crash victims’ memorial.

Farsha Beach charges 200 EGP per person, including a bottle of water and a towel. Sunbeds were readily available in the morning, with some still free around noon.

For snorkeling with a coral reef, recommended beaches are Zaza (Sindbad), El Fanar, Del Mar and Umbi; without a reef - Terrazina and Marlin & Caviar.

The Edge Rotana Sea Beach Aqua Park hotel (Nabq Bay) runs on a Sun & Fun concept: sea access is via a nearly 1 km long pontoon, water is shallow near shore, and there are two entry points from the pontoon where depth changes with the tide. Food is a bit repetitive but tasty. The resort has new separate rooms for up to 3 people; larger groups need a club room.

There's a caution about the same area (Nabq Bay / Edge Rotana): a red flag warning is often in effect on the beach until noon, and this stretch of coast is considered inferior to Naama Bay.

A free option is El Maya Bay near the hotel: it's always calm with no wind, and there are plenty of water rides and restaurants. Walking about 10 minutes past the hill leads to the open sea.

Entry to El Fanar and Faraana beaches is about 200 EGP, and they offer shore-access snorkeling.

At Farsha Beach, in addition to the roughly 200 EGP entry, visitors can snorkel directly from shore.

In the beach area below Farsha lounge, it is possible to walk freely along the shore starting from the western Holidays beach; access restrictions begin roughly near Santorini.

Near the well-known Farsha hookah lounge there are several paid beaches with sandy water entry, floating mats, and fish. Entry costs around 200 Egyptian pounds (~$4).

Besides El Fanar and Naama Bay, Farsha beach is worth a visit if you want to try something different on your last day in town.

Palma di Sharm resort (Hollywood area) has a great sandy beach - a small island-like spot with shallow entry, reached by shuttle bus through the old town area. The resort also has 6 pools, a waterpark, and good food.

Some beach clubs, like Posh Club, offer a separate sunbed area - check availability of this zone in advance when booking.

Naama Bay is known for beautiful sandy beaches with gentle water entry - a good choice, for example near the Maritim hotel.

Before heading to the beach, check whether a red flag warning is in effect that day - swimming may be banned at some beaches due to rough waves.
