How can I prevent unexpected call charges and lost roaming minutes on my home SIM card while visiting Batumi?

TL;DR

In roaming, incoming or missed calls may use up included minutes or trigger charges. Reject unknown calls promptly and confirm your carrier’s roaming package rules before traveling.

A traveler reported a roaming charge of about RUB 3,000 and submitted a refund request. For unknown incoming calls, decline them immediately rather than letting them ring out.

An included-minute allowance can run out sooner than expected because of unwanted incoming calls, even if you barely make calls yourself. Check usage details in your carrier’s app.

For MegaFon SIM cards, travelers mentioned the “Vygodny Roaming” option at RUB 149. Before activating it, confirm with support that it works in Georgia and what calls are covered.
