What happens if you overstay or leave Bali while your visa extension is being processed?

Passing exit immigration on the 31st day counts as an overstay and may result in a 1,000,000 IDR fine. If you clear immigration before midnight on day 30 but the flight departs after midnight, it should not be treated as an overstay.

With an overstayed visa, you can take a domestic flight and connect in Surabaya; the overstay fine is paid at the airport of your final departure from Indonesia—Surabaya in this case—for all accumulated overstay days.
