What's the weather like in the Maldives in July?

In late July on one of the atolls, it's mostly overcast with unpredictable sunny spells — clear in the morning, then rain all afternoon. For guaranteed good weather, travelers suggest booking during high season (roughly December–April).

There was almost 10 straight days of heat with no rain, then finally a light shower brought relief from the prolonged heat wave.

On Kudafushi island the weather is generally great: light rain may fall overnight, but sunshine returns by around 8am and lasts all day. The beaches and sand are excellent, though food variety is limited.
