How long does a Sri Lanka online visa or first visa extension take to process?

A 60-day e-visa can face major delays: one applicant had already been waiting for four weeks. Apply well ahead of travel rather than close to departure.

In one recent case, a first online visa extension took three days: the application was submitted on Tuesday evening, followed by approval and a payment link. The applicant uploaded a personal photo and passport photo, without a return ticket.

ETA application receipt and approval can arrive quickly even at a Mail.ru email address: one applicant received the submission confirmation within a minute and the ETA in roughly 30 minutes.
