Is it worth exchanging money at Bodrum Airport, and are there ATMs there?

A 19 September 2026 report gave an airport rate of 55 TRY per EUR, but said exchanges were limited to 100 EUR per transaction. For a larger amount, travelers suggested making multiple transactions or splitting the exchange among family members.

Unlike Bodrum Airport, city exchange offices were reported to accept older US dollar notes with portraits in oval frames; the airport reportedly refuses those bills.

You can pay at the airport by card or in cash. In July 2026 a participant wrote that they always carry cash and exchange all their euros right at the Bodrum Airport exchange office, so they never depend on a card; the office, they said, is easy to find.

Opinions on the airport rate differ. In July 2026 one participant called it unfavourable; in September another put a fair rate at about 48.5 lira per dollar and warned that the airport and tourist spots can be much worse; in October a third called the airport rate extortionate but noted that you only need a little at first — about 200 lira.
