What is the beach and water like at Gulluk Bay near Bodrum?

With small morning waves, some seaweed and minor debris may wash up at the shoreline, but the water by the buoys remains completely clear.

There are specific entry points where an underground current is felt — the water there is cooler but very clean. These spots are all close together along the shoreline.

There are sunbeds down by the shore, but you can't actually enter the water from there. Further to the left is a sandy beach area with sunbeds where sea entry is possible.

One visitor notes the sea is clear in the morning — feet are visible while standing chest-deep at 170cm height. In the afternoon, waves pick up and stir sand from the bottom, making the water murkier.

There's a distinction between beaches in the area: a paid beach near the mountain that looks murky in photos is indeed dirty. Beach number 6, reached by shuttle, has clear water — sometimes murky right at the shoreline, but always clear once you swim a bit deeper; locals swim out as far as the buoys.

There are handrails to help entering the sea, but they start a bit further out in the water rather than right at the shoreline.

There are pools with slides at the beach area, but the pool water is also cold, similar to the sea.

According to another visitor, the pebbles are pleasant — coarser near the sunbeds but quite comfortable in the water, with some entering without water shoes.

The beach has no concrete platforms — it's a sand-and-pebble mix, with occasional large stones that can be uncomfortable barefoot (water shoes recommended).

A mountain river with icy-cold water flows into the sea near the bay, noticeably affecting sea temperature in this part of the coast.

Waves mix the cool fresh river water with the sea, so water temperature can vary noticeably from spot to spot along the shore.

Despite the uneven bottom and variable temperature, the sea at Gulluk Bay itself is described as beautiful and clear.
