Which SIM card or eSIM should I get for internet in Bodrum, Turkey?

From messages by 4 participants in 1 source · Last activity: 53 days ago

TL;DR

In August 2026 travelers in Bodrum used eSIMs and were generally happy: one bought a Trip.com eSIM for 9 days with 100 GB per day at 10 Mbps and did not even need the hotel Wi-Fi, while others praised eSIM.world and UniSIM. One traveler had installation and connection problems with a Merhaba eSIM from a provider other than MTS, and another could not get the MTS Merhaba plan at the operator's office back home at the time.

In late August 2026 a traveler bought a 9-day eSIM on Trip.com: 100 GB per day at 10 Mbps. A Russian-speaking traveler paid about 680 roubles for it. She said everything worked perfectly — she did not even connect to the hotel Wi-Fi. This is one trip's experience; prices and plans may have changed.

At first the same traveler wanted to sign up for the MTS Merhaba plan before the trip, but staff at an MTS office back home told her they did not have it at the moment. She was not sure whether the plan had really been withdrawn or the staff simply did not know, so she bought a Trip.com eSIM instead.

In mid-August 2026 a traveler in Bodrum used eSIM.world: on day two they reported that the connection was fine and the speed decent. They mostly used 'light' apps, though, so their experience says little about heavier use.

Another traveler in August 2026 recommended UniSIM. They also said they had tried a Merhaba eSIM (not the MTS one): it installed incorrectly, support was slow to respond, and there were connection problems. The question came after someone mentioned that an eSIM advertised by Kaspersky had worked poorly for them in another country.
