TL;DR

Cappadocia balloon flights are weather-dependent and can be cancelled across the region, as happened on 2 October. Check the following morning’s update after 11:00, since approvals may differ between Göreme, Soğanlı, Ihlara and Çat.

All Cappadocia balloon flights were cancelled for the morning of 2 October because of weather. Avoid making a balloon ride your only plan for the day and keep a backup day in your itinerary.

The status for the following morning is usually announced after 11:00 the day before. Confirm the decision with your operator after that time before changing plans or transfers.

Flight approval can vary by launch area: for the morning of 25 September, Göreme and Soğanlı had preliminary approval, while Ihlara and Çat were still awaiting a decision. If one area is cancelled, ask your operator whether another launch zone is possible.
