How much does a hotel spa massage cost in Turkey, and can you negotiate a discount?

TL;DR

Advertised hotel-spa massage rates can be around €70, but couples buying a package may be able to negotiate a much lower price. Cash US dollars can be more practical than euros, and travelers should not rely on SBP-style instant payments being accepted.

At a Selectum spa last October, the advertised massage price was €70, but two guests negotiated a five-treatment package at US$25 per person per massage. Ask specifically about couple and multi-treatment package rates for the best chance of a discount.

Travelers report that cash US dollars may be better value than euros, as the local exchange treatment for the two currencies can be the same. Confirm which currency the spa will use when quoting the final price.

Do not depend on SBP-style instant transfers for paying for a massage or other services in Turkey, as acceptance varies by venue. Carry backup cash or another payment card.
