Is Romanov Tour in Side reliable for day trips, and is it worth booking excursions there?

In August 2026 a traveler called the Green Canyon 5-in-1 excursion booked through Romanov Tour excellent: the guide was interesting, and even moving lunch from before the lake cruise to after it did not spoil the experience.

Her Alanya trip with the same agency went less well: the group travelled on a shared coach with two guides. The English-speaking guide was lively and interesting, while the Russian-speaking guide barely explained anything and mostly just pointed at the sights. She also mentioned organisational problems linked to bad weather. The experience depends heavily on the particular guide.

According to a traveler who booked with the agency twice, Romanov Tour does not take tourists on excursions itself, and its prices were US$10–20 lower than what other tourists paid elsewhere. Everyone rode the same buses with the same guides, so in her view the quality of an excursion depends more on the local operator than on where you bought it.

Another traveler gave a detailed account of a Tazı Canyon and ancient Selge excursion in August 2026. The driver spent an hour and a half collecting tourists from hotels, with no guide on board — the guide only joined at the last stop. Instead of the advertised 'comfortable coach' there was a cramped minibus with no legroom. Polish tourists who did not speak Russian were added to the Russian-language group, so the guide had to repeat everything in two languages; he rated the guide's work 3 out of 5.

The traveler named the return transfer as the biggest problem of that trip: after lunch the group was moved to another minibus, where 16 people were being squeezed into 11 seats. Four people did not get a seat and waited about an hour in the heat for a rafting group's vehicle. When his mother contacted Romanov Tour support, the replies, in his words, were rude and sarcastic. Overall he rated the agency '50/50'.
