Is the sea clean in Side, Turkey and when is the best time to visit for clear water?

In mid-July, microplastic sometimes washed ashore after lunch, making the water unpleasant for a couple of days. Other days the sea was clean — seems to depend on wind direction or current.

Last year stayed at Numa Bay hotel — the bay does get debris washed in after lunch, won't choose that spot again. This year switched to a hotel in Side (Manavgat area) — the sea there was noticeably cleaner.

Recent report (a week ago): the sea wasn't dirty at all, even during afternoon storms the water stayed clear.

Visited in August, staying at a 5-star hotel with a large beach — chose this month specifically because early June had cold, rough water due to a late spring.

Visited in June, entering the water was easy with no large seaweed patches. Mornings were clear, but after a storm some debris appeared right at the shoreline while the water further out stayed clean.

Visited in June — the sea often turned murky by afternoon. Moved to the Side area specifically, where the water was clean.
