How hot is Dubai in summer and can you walk outside?

In summer, the beach is best early in the morning: later the sea can feel excessively warm, so it’s more comfortable to use the sea or pool in the morning and evening and stay indoors with air-conditioning during peak heat.

Summer heat is harder with children, so hotel choice matters more: large beach hotels with extensive green grounds and multiple pools, such as Al Habtoor or Sheraton JBR, make a summer stay easier.

A hotel in the Marina area proved convenient: cafes, a supermarket, and a liquor store nearby. The pool is shallow with plenty of sunbeds, a water cooler, and a bar. Marina-view rooms are especially enjoyable in the evening. No deposit required, city tax is 15 AED per night. Downside: only one EU-compatible outlet per room (in the bathroom) — bring adapters.

There is almost no shade in outdoor areas, so daytime is best spent indoors or at the hotel pool. Evenings are manageable but still warm by most standards.

In summer, daytime outings beyond the hotel and pool are not realistic due to extreme heat. Plan all city exploration for the evening hours.
