How to get from Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) to Dubai city center?

For travel from DWC, you can hail a regular taxi or book through an app: all use a meter, so the total fare is usually similar. A street-hailed taxi has a lower starting charge; the subsequent tariff is the same.

Alternative route: take a bus from the airport to Central Bus Station (cash payment), then transfer to a double-decker bus to Dubai (card payment), then take the metro to Dubai Mall. A transit card can be purchased at the bus station.

Al Maktoum Airport is far outside the city with no metro connection. Official taxis are always available at the terminal exit — no pre-booking needed. Avoid Lexus taxis parked outside; they are business-class and cost significantly more. You can check estimated fares in advance using the Careem or Yango apps.

Bus F55 runs from Al Maktoum Airport to Ibn Battuta Metro Station during the day. The night route N55 also goes to Ibn Battuta and continues along the coastline, but the journey is very long. Important: buses do not accept cash or bank cards — you need a Nol transit card, available for purchase at the airport exit.

Al Maktoum Airport is located far from Dubai city center, so many travelers prefer taking a taxi regardless of other options — especially with luggage or late at night.
