Are budget hotels in the UAE still worth booking? Current food, beach and construction conditions

Guests staying from 26 August to 6 September were generally happy with their first UAE trip. They noted that the beach had been expanded, but said the entertainment programme had been removed and food quality had declined.

When choosing a room, avoid options away from the beach side: some rooms overlook an active construction site. Noise can be heard during both day and night, although it is substantially quieter after dark.

Food is described as the main weak point: the selection is repetitive, chicken dishes dominate, fruit is limited and pizza is no longer offered. There were also complaints about bland or insufficiently cooked food.
