How does hotel breakfast work at all-inclusive resorts in the UAE — do you need to show your room key?

Tested in practice: arrived at the restaurant at 8am, gave the room number, and was let in for breakfast without any issues.

After 4 stays at this hotel, service was almost always smooth: once there was a ceiling leak, but staff fixed it quickly after a request at reception — no mold or dirt issues.

It feels odd to state your room number to waiters the first time, but you get used to it fast — by the second day staff already remember guests and their favorite drinks. This is under the all-inclusive (full board with drinks) hotel format.
