TL;DR
Summer rain in Da Nang is typically brief and doesn't ruin trips — showers last 5–15 minutes, after which it cools down nicely. Even heavy rain doesn't stop beach-goers.
Weather apps often overestimate rain in Da Nang — they may show rain daily, but in reality it might drizzle for just 5 minutes. Overcast days are actually more comfortable for sightseeing than full sun. Pack a rain poncho just in case, but an umbrella works too.
Heavy rain doesn't empty the beach — locals swim regardless of weather. A visit to the Lady Buddha statue during a downpour can actually be one of the most atmospheric experiences of the trip.
Plan outings for the second half of the day — brief showers tend to fall then, but they cool things down quickly and crowds are noticeably smaller afterwards.
