How to transfer between domestic and international terminals at Da Nang airport for a connecting flight?

Terminals 1 and 2 are close together, but reaching Terminal 3 takes about 20 minutes by road, or up to 30 minutes during peak traffic. Allow for this when connecting between flights.

A domestic flight from Phu Quoc arrived 30 minutes late, partially recovered in the air. Still had to collect checked baggage at the domestic terminal, transfer to the international terminal, and check in again from scratch. The minimum workable connection time is around 1 hour 35 minutes before departure. Some airlines close check-in 1 hour before, leaving almost no buffer. If you're running late, immigration may let you skip the queue.

During a Da Nang transit connection, you'll receive stickers to attach to your clothing. Your checked baggage will be collected at the terminal exit. Customs clearance can take a long time. If you miss your connecting flight, you'll be rebooked on the next available one.

For a nighttime connection at Da Nang airport, the inter-terminal shuttle does not operate. You'll need to take a taxi or walk between terminals with your luggage. The distance is significant enough that walking with suitcases is inconvenient. Fast-track services offer little benefit for this type of transfer.
