TL;DR
Generally safe if you skip ice and drink canned beverages. Most travelers eat at local cafes and restaurants without issues.
After several weeks in Da Nang, travelers found a few go-to spots — both restaurants and simple local cafes — and ate there regularly without any stomach issues. Key rules: avoid ice everywhere, drink only canned beverages. Some places serve food without gloves, but that didn't cause any problems.
Near Palm Garden hotel, there are plenty of food and drink options just a 2-minute walk across the road. Budget for two is around $100/day (2.6 million VND), covering meals plus alcohol (whisky, rum, wine).
Street fruit vendors are almost nonexistent in Da Nang — unlike Thailand where fruit is sold on every corner. If you want fresh fruit, look in shops or markets rather than expecting street stalls.
