Do you need a local Vietnamese phone number to use ride-hailing apps in Nha Trang?

Ride-hailing apps like Grab, InDrive, and Maxim allow you to link a bank card for cashless payment, or you can pay the driver in cash directly.
Grab can be registered with your home country phone number before you even fly to Vietnam — no local SIM required.
Grab — register before arrival
Hiring a trusted private local driver directly is a reliable option for trips around Nha Trang and nearby areas.
Maxim, InDrive, and Google Maps all work without a Vietnamese phone number — internet access is all you need. If you don't have a physical card, a virtual card for Vietnam can be obtained via Trip.com.

A Vietnamese translation app is handy for communicating with local drivers — worth installing before your trip.
