How to get from Nha Trang to Doc Let beach by bus — prices and schedule?

How to read the route 12 timetable. In August 2026 a participant explained that the timetable shows the same times for both ends of the route: for example, at 4:05 PM a bus leaves both Nha Trang and Doc Let. Another participant clarified that timetable times are departures from the bus station, and the bus reaches the Galina stop about 10 minutes later.

Opinions on the beach itself vary. In August 2026 travellers who went by bus 12 did not like Doc Let, although they said almost everyone else does; they preferred Bai Dai beach, which is also closer.

Private minibuses. Besides the regular route 12 buses, private minibus operators also run to Doc Let — more often, according to a participant in July 2026. In late August 2026 participants wrote that Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibuses wait near the Art Nest hotel and take you to Doc Let for 60,000 VND (the bus costs 40,000). The same advice: head back before 5 PM or on the last bus at 5:30 PM.

When to leave. In July 2026 a participant who shared the route 12 timetable advised leaving the beach at around 4 PM rather than waiting for the last buses. Another added that a taxi is easy to call if needed.

Fares and frequency. In late June 2026 travellers who had gone to Doc Let the day before wrote that an air-conditioned bus costs 40,000 VND and a minibus 50,000 VND, both running every half hour. In August 2026 another participant confirmed the interval: buses every half hour plus minibuses, so you will not wait long at the stop.

Last bus back. In June 2026 a participant warned that the last bus from Doc Let leaves at 5 PM and it is better to go earlier, since buses are about half an hour apart. In late August 2026 the last departure was given as 5:30 PM. In July 2026 another participant advised checking the time of the last 12-1 bus (usually around six, in his words) and not relying on it.

If the timetable is unclear: in June 2026 a participant pointed out that buses are about half an hour apart, so if you miss one you can wait for the next — but do not cut it close to the last departure. In August 2026 participants advised simply going to the stop and waiting a short while: a bus or minibus will pick you up.

Travel time. In June 2026 a participant said the ride takes just over an hour — 1 h 10 min, maybe 1 h 20 min — but is not tiring by either bus or minibus. In August 2026 travellers took about 1.5 hours on bus 12, even though the driver went very fast; another put it at 1 h to 1 h 10 min — 'not very comfortable, but bearable'. In September 2026 participants again said just over an hour by bus.
