How to get to the ferry port for Monkey Island in Nha Trang by public transport?

According to a participant in September 2026, boats to Monkey Island run every half hour from 8:00 to 13:00, and tickets are bought at the ticket office at the port. The schedule may have changed, so plan to arrive well before the last departure.

The stop is right at the entrance of the Galina Hotel. In July 2026 a participant wrote that bus 12-1 runs from there — the same bus goes to Doc Let and to Monkey Island, and it runs frequently. Tell the conductor “Monkey Island”; the stop is called North Port — Bến tàu du lịch Long Phú. According to an August 2026 report, the ride on bus 12 took about 35 minutes and cost 22,000 VND per person. In September someone added that bus 12 can also be caught near the Louisiana restaurant.

Getting back: in June 2026 a participant advised returning from the port by taxi — in his words 150,000–300,000 VND — because the bus may not stop. In August a traveler who arrived by bus wrote that she did not see a stop for the return direction near the pier.

In June 2026 participants wrote that the island ticket includes the trip there and back. Monkeys sometimes bite, and participants warned that a bite means a course of injections, so keep your distance from them.
