How to register in ride-hailing apps in Nha Trang with a foreign phone number or eSIM?

TL;DR

XANH SM doesn't allow registration with international numbers, and Maxim requires SMS verification. Try using a local Vietnamese SIM or alternative apps.

The Maxim taxi app requires SMS verification, which is problematic for eSIM users without a real number. One workaround is to try registering with a home country number if it's still active.

XANH SM, a popular Vietnamese ride-hailing app, blocks registration with international phone numbers. You'll need a local Vietnamese SIM card to use it.

If you're unsure how to enter a destination in a Vietnamese taxi app, use the in-app map to drop a pin on your destination — this is easier than typing Vietnamese street names manually.
